Writers block, or just not in the right mood?

So… that is a question I often ponder.

Does our muse feel the effect of a mood swing, or stress?

Is what some might call writers block just a mood swing? I know some might say, I don’t have moods. Well I do, plain and simple. Could almost be a full set in one day as well lol Coffee helps at times as a collective sigh rings out from those around me 😉

I love writing, it’s what I have always wanted to do. I am lucky enough now to be  able to say. “I am a full time writer.” However, I am also a full time carer as well. So I still have two full time jobs. I have learned to bite my tongue  when someone says.” But you do not earn much from your writing, so surely it isn’t a proper job.”  My mind screams, it so is a full time job. But unless you are that way inclined, I don’t think it is easily understood how much writers, or in fact creative minded people actually sacrifice for the love of their craft.

But enough grumbling lol that is not what this blog was supposed to be about.

Does the right music help you? I have discovered in the last year that I have found I work better with silence. I can really hear my characters better.  I am still a fledgling writer after all. I am still learning my craft and probably will be for some time to come. Maybe it will change in years to come. who knows what works and what doesn’t. I do know that as long as us creative minded people stick together and the green eyed monster doesn’t rear it’s ugly head, as I have sadly seen a few times since I started to join in with the writing community it will be a good place to be. Although I know its a tough place to throw yourself into. Maybe it is just the person I am, but I believe what goes around comes around. So when my friends, and I am happy to say I have met some wonderful friends via the internet say, “I won an award”, or “I have had a really good month with my book sales” I smile and say…” I am pleased for you, you have worked so hard to get here. May it long continue!!” There is nothing better for me than to have a message or a review that say’s I fell in love with a certain character or I loved your book. I also appreciate constructive criticism as well though.  (small plug in the middle) you can find me on twitter, or Facebook. Just put in Caroline F Levy, and there I will be 🙂

So back to the moods… When someone is a hater or for a better term, slags off your book, say that is only their opinion. I love what I do, and I am not going to give up, just because I have only had a couple of sale,s or I got a one star review…. If you let it get to you, it will eventually suffocate those wonderful voices banging around in your mind. It did me for a while. I am so thankful that they have decided to come back and give me another chance!!

Sooo watch this space, because I am determined to not let a mood swing, or haters stop what I love to do.. And as Angel would probably say, bite me… or is that, I want to bite you lol

For those who have taken the time to read this, you have probably gathered I had a wobble 🙂 But thanks to this post, I am ready to come out swinging again.

See you on Sunday with a snippet of Nikki’s Challenge.

Caroline xoxo
